Margaret Chiavini (“I,” “me,” or “my”) operates https://margaretchiavini.com/ (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you visit the Site, how it is used, and the choices you have.
The Site is a personal brand website for speaking, the book It’s Your Party, the podcast Designing Happy, and the forthcoming Monumenta app. It is not a bank, broker-dealer, or investment-advisory platform, and it does not collect account numbers, Social Security numbers, or other financial-account data.
If you use the contact form at https://margaretchiavini.com/contact/, the speaking inquiry form at https://margaretchiavini.com/speaking/, or email avery@lionfiregroup.co, I receive the details you submit.
The contact form asks for your name, email address, and message. The speaking inquiry form asks for your name, email address, and organization, and lets you add a phone number, event name, date, location, format, audience size, speaking budget, topic of interest, and a message.
Form submissions are emailed to my team and saved in the Site’s WordPress database so inquiries can be tracked and answered.
When you visit the Site, standard technical data may be collected, such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring URL, and approximate general location derived from IP address. This happens through the Site’s hosting environment and through Google Analytics.
Google Analytics. I use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the Site, such as which pages are viewed, which videos are played and how much of them is watched, which buttons and links are clicked, how far pages are scrolled, and whether a form was submitted. Google Analytics only sets analytics cookies if you allow them in the cookie banner. If you don’t, Google may still receive limited, cookieless signals under Google Consent Mode, which are not used to identify you. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Learn more in Google’s privacy policy.
Microsoft Clarity. I also use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors interact with pages through heatmaps and session recordings, such as where people click, how far they scroll, and where they get stuck. Clarity only runs if you allow analytics cookies, and it masks what you type into forms. Learn more in Microsoft’s privacy statement.
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to run the website, remember your cookie choices, measure how pages are used, and play embedded videos. When you first visit, a cookie banner lets you accept all cookies, deny non-essential cookies, or choose which categories to allow. Non-essential cookies stay off until you agree. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer.
For the full list of cookies, what they do, and how long they last, see the Cookie Policy. You can also control cookies in your browser. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Site works.
I use information to:
I do not sell your personal information.
I share information only when needed to run the Site or when the law requires it, including with:
I do not share your contact details with unrelated marketers.
The Site links to other websites, including Amazon, podcast platforms, and social or media pages. Their practices are not covered by this policy. Review those sites before you submit information there.
Inquiry and correspondence records are kept as long as needed to respond, maintain a professional relationship, meet legal or bookkeeping needs, or resolve disputes. Technical logs are kept for a shorter operational period. Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months. Your cookie consent choice is remembered on your device until it expires or you change it.
Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used to protect information. No website transmission or storage is completely secure.
The Site is not directed to children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact avery@lionfiregroup.co and it will be deleted.
You may:
California residents and residents of other states with privacy laws may have additional rights, including to know, delete, or correct personal information, and to opt out of certain sharing. I do not sell personal information as that term is commonly used. To exercise a request, email avery@lionfiregroup.co or use https://margaretchiavini.com/contact/. I may need to verify who you are before fulfilling it.
The Site is operated from the United States. If you visit from another country, your information will be processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection rules than your home country.
I may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when I do. Continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
